Hi,

I have the Pinnacle MediaCenter 100i and can't get the remote to work with MP.

Seems like MP does not recognize the remote buttons being pressed. Im pretty sure my profiles.ini is correct. Every button is programmed as a keyboard being pressed shortcut. I can start MP with the remote thats all..

I've tried enabling General HID under setup =>remote, no luck.

Im running out of ideas. If someone can help it will be greatly appreciated..

Thank you.

    I can't help with that remoe, just provide some general remote advice...

    If the remote plugs into the TV card itself then it will be difficult to work with MP. Most of these type of remotes have special coding in their native app to take care of that. If a remote like this does work, it is usually because someone has written specil code of their own to get the signals. I'm assuming you've searched the forums for any info on this? Also try HIP (www.byremote.com.au from memory) as it has great features in this area. Also try girder, but it's not free.

    What most people end up doing is giving up on their existing remote and getting an MCE one. It's quite cheap, has a lot of features, works out of the box and also includes blasters to send signals to other devices. If you use the replacement driver and plugin you will get more extra features than you ever dreamed of.
    Make sure you get the euro version of this remote if you go this way. It has four extra buttons down the bottom (r/g/b/y) which make it much better to control things.

    Don't give up just yet ;-)

    X10 is a type of remote. Try enableing different remotes in the config and see what (if anything) works. If yours plugs in to the COM port then try your luck with the SerialUIR section.

    Hello!

    Did you have the pinnacle mediacenter software with your card?
    In that case the software installs a little remote-application. In the remote-applicaton folder in your Program Files (C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Shared Files\Programs\Remote) there is an .ini file in which your remote's keys are defined. Those keys should be the same as the keys used in MP.
    I have my remote (type B) with my pctv 110i working. Its plugged in my tv card!
    Can u tell me if you have the pinnacle software installed?

    If you can start MP with your remote then i guess you have the app installed.
    OK.
    When you start MP in window mode you see at the top: MediaPortal - Home.
    All your remote keys has to be linked to your window name.....and yes there are a lot of them, like MediaPortal - Settings; MediaPortal - My Weather.

    It has to look like this:

    ;
    ;
    [default]
    ; start MP with Remote Type B ( main menu )

    Ok so now you have MP configured for the Home window and the Last.fm window. The remote should work in those windows. But check your HWID in the file because for 100i card it should be 5 (mine is HWID=8).
    Now if you want the remote to work with all the windows just copy (exactly):

    ;
    [MediaPortal - My Last.fm radio]
    ;
    ;***************
    ; Remote Type B
    ;***************
    ;
    ; back
    ; this key has three different keyboard key 'back', 'POS1' and 'CTRL+LEFT'
    key1013=KEYBOARD Esc+^Esc
    ; LiveTV
    key1041=KEYBOARD ALT+ENTER+^ENTER+^ALT
    ; select
    key1021=KEYBOARD enter+^enter
    ; navigate : right
    key1020=KEYBOARD RIGHT+^RIGHT
    ; navigate : left
    key1019=KEYBOARD LEFT+^LEFT
    ; navigate : down
    key1018=KEYBOARD Down+^Down
    ; navigate : up
    key1017=KEYBOARD Up+^Up
    ; home or MP start
    key1006=KEYBOARD ESC+^ESC
    ; c/n
    key1031=KEYBOARD CTRL+c+^c+^CTRL
    ; del
    key1033=KEYBOARD O+^O
    ; volume up
    key1043=KEYBOARD =+^=
    ; Volume down
    key1044=KEYBOARD -+^-

    Now change the name: [MediaPortal - My Last.fm radio] into, for example:
    [MediaPortal - My Music] and it should work. repeat this for all the MP windows if you want complete control over MP.
    I could have typed more remote keystrokes but mostly you only going to use the arrow keys and the ok keys and back key so that will keep the ini-file (relatively) small.

    Oh and if you have remote type A then you will have to change the key munbers:
    key1044 (remote B) = key15 (remote A).
    You can browse the web for this: PCTVMediaCenter_Remote_EN.pdf.
    In the pdf file you can see pictures of the remotes and their keynumbers.
    The only difference is that for every remote B number there is a 10 placed before it:
    key 44 becames in the ini file key1044.

    I hope this helpes.

    Good luck!

    Maybe you should ask in this thread if anyone has used this remote. That thread is a different remote plugn which is actively being worked on.
