Hi.

Could someone please help me with subtitles?

At this point I have used the mediaportal install guide and I have ffdshow, haali and mp installed.

I have a file with subs "integrated in the file(english), but I would like to view subtitles that i have downloaded (.srt). When I try to view the video file in mp i can only choose english in the subtitle menu. So what's needed to make this work?

What do I need to install?
What settings do I nedd to change/activate?
Where should i put the subtitle file?
And where do I load the the file and link it to the video file?/activate the subtitle file
And what name should the subtitle file have?

I hope anyone can give me some tips on what to do...:)

    Hi.

You should always post more info, like MP version ;)

In 1.1, there is built in suport for subs (w/DXVA!). All you need is to have the .srt file named like the movie, ie:

    Hulk.avi
    Hulk.srt

Just make sure they are in same folder.

Either set autoload for subs in confiig, or start them from within MP GUI(yellow teletext or via context dialogue).

    PS:

    Simple MP install:
    Clean Windows
1.1 BETA (not really recommended for productive systems)
SAF (unloced - see SAF thred) + Haali
Skin: StreamedMP - installs moving pictures and TV series

Nice addition: OnlineVideos - for youTube etc. (MPE1 file - just open in and let it do its magic)
