Having multiple folders with thousands photos, usually when showing them to family or friends, using my image viewer, I begin performing a "search image" looking for tagged images (what I do is when I find a nice photo I append a '$' character to the end of the filename, like "DCS0002$.jpg" so it's a snap to look for best images in a photoset); what i get is a list where only the best images are shown. Obviously the search will work across multiple folders, given a starting folder, scanning in the subtree.
Would be nice to add such feature to MP:
- insert a find file
- let the user enter a search criteria
- store search criterias for reusability (avoids keyboard usage)
- include subfolders as an option
- once results list is build choose between presentation or random presentation.

Could it be possible?

I wish picture short comment (to be shown under a thumbnail), description (longer text), tagging and searching was the next steps. At some time it would be nice to allow more transition effects and then allowing textoverlay. An all incompassing slideshow. Nice as more people have HD TVs!

Perhaps something like mp3 playlists where one could assemble slideshows across several folders, where the same image could be in several slideshow without being physivcally moved?

I support the idea of short/long tags, if only mp would do the actual tagging for me :) I have thousands of pictures in different folders, would love to have cathegory and names of everyone in the pictures, date, place etc =)

    regards
