    Hi,

Been using MP for a long time now, even converted a few to it :D
However i only have a problem with movie/tv-series IMDB lookups.
My current movie/tv-series folders looks like this:

    Movies/<moviename>/<filename>.avi
    Tv-series/<Tvshowname>/<filename>.avi

IMDB isn't meant for TV shows i know but it sometimes can give a nice folder.jpg as a result(unless it's a new show)

When i do a movie database lookup with imdb it uses the filename which most of the time doesn't match(10 out of 100 match more or less).
I know there is a manual editor but it's hard to manual enter all the movies, so what would be great is an option box to tick so that it searches folder names instead of using the filenames.
Tried searching the forum but could't find anything similar to this request.

I had the same thought today when i had a full DVD on disk.

The folder name was correct but it started searching imdb for video_ts etc. I would just want it to search the top-level folder name

Another note. I for one only want the description of the movie and maybe the jpeg cover. The time it takes to return from imdb implies it is getting all the actors details etc.

Yeah thought that also, if they could make the imdb more configureable that would be great(less data like actors = much faster lookup).

    Folder Look up

Yeah I agree... It would be great if MP examined the movie Folder name instead of the File name and searched based on this. Also It seems that when you get info on a specific movie within the video views (Using F3) it downloads info from IMDB. This would be much better if when you clicked on a movie from the parent menu it displayed the movie info (Artwork / Details) from the local database and not query the internet. If you then wanted to play the movie you can hit play and there it is. At the moment if you want info on a film you must play it then go back to parent and hit F3. Would be awesome if a great dev out there could fix this.

    Cheers

    I agree.

I also noticed that when looking up movies, MP seems to store more "images" than neccessary. For example, I did an IMDB lookup for "Lord of War". When it finished, it displayed the movie info, and there were 15 images I could scroll through. Some of these were alternative Lord of War covers, some were for other things (like the DVD series "World at War").

Does anyone know why the lookup associates lots of cover images with a movie instead of just one? I wouldn't mind having to choose an image from a selection.

Maybe it could be that the Summertime has people outside more than inside developing?

the MyTv.com plugin used to do this perfectly. It would analyse a folder and rename and store data for all the TV shows inside the folder.
If you right click on a folder there is a tv.com lookup option, but it hasnt worked lately. I think tv.com changed their format and the plugin hasn't been changed to reflect.

This is built into MP though, not an external plugin.

You're forgetting about those south of the equator, it's winter time there.

None the less, you can't expect everyone to dedicate all their free time to working code.
