IMDB plot not dowloaded (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I really like the way mediaportal works !

I have only one problem with the IMDB info
It does not seem to load the PLOT info even though it is available from the IMDB website
I tried several refresh but alas
I tried several different movies but all i get is actors, ratings, art work but no PLOT description !

please advice !
if i get that to work i really consider a donation as the prog looks cool !

If using the BlueTwo skin there is no info shown as you are viewing as shares, to change this open Mediaportal\video, menu on the left, find Switch view and select title, now you will have plot showing, downside of this is you are viewing the database info, so if you have a film that is not in the db then it will not show until you change back to shares or update the database in MP config.

You might also want to check out the MovingPictures plugin, this give all of above and more

Hi, thx for your quick response.

unfortunately both solutions do not seem to work.

when i switch "view" to TITLE i still do not see the PLOT descriptions

i then installed the "moving picture plug-in" but it does not show up anywhere in mediaportal !?

do i need to configure it somewhere?

please advice

MediaPortal config\plugins you need to enable it and chose the folder\s you want to add to it, one of the easiest ways to get the main plugins that MP uses is install the StreamedMP skin, this will install them for you, then you only have to configure them.

Sofar so good except for i have no sound anymore

not using My Movies
not using the moving movies plugin
sound is fine using windows media center

any ideas?

In MP config\codec and renderer, make sure that default direct sound is chosen (default).

Run MP, use alt-enter to go windowed mode, then play any file with audio, check the volume mixer in the system try, there should be a entry for mediaportal is this muted or lowered.

hi, i dont hv that folder.

the videos/video player shows:

mpeg/ac3 audio decoder : mpc-mpa decode filte
aac audio decode: ffdshow audio decoder
audio renderer: default directsound driver

What is your operating system, check the sound icon in systray, its very easy to accidently mute sound, run MP alt-enter, play file, then open the volume mixer and see if mediaportal is listed.



If not above then need logs.

i have w7 64

which log file do you need and how do i provide them to you?

Any more help would have been appreciated but do not worry i have sorted it out myself.
that is i re-installed media portal and installed streamedMP.
Now everything seems to work fine.

Like it a lot and when things stay ok for the next days (evaluation) i will surely donate and recommed it to other people
