    Hello
I'm trying out the IMDB+ scraper because I thought it would fix my problem. MY problem is that I live in France (therefore IMDB recognises me as french) but I want my movie titles to be English or at least original version title. The standard IMDB scraper finds french version movie titles. Unfortunately this IMDB+ seems to do the same. I know I can view on IMDB the correct english versions if I go to The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) . Which site does IMDB+ use ? If it is not the akas.imdb site, can I change it somewhere ?
    Many thanks for help.

Almost half of the IMDb+ scraper-script code (and trust me that is a lot) is designed to get the English title no matter where you are. So it should work even with IMDb normally giving you French titles.

Are you sure IMDb+ got used? I did a fresh install recently and found out that there is a race-condition in whicn IMDb+ plugin puts the IMDb+ scraper in first position to make sure it gets used for new imports, but then MovingPictures puts the default IMDb scraper in first again. We are currently working on finding a solution for this.

In the meantime you can just manually correct this problem via MovingPictures config, by adjusting the scraper script order and putting IMDb+ in first position. I'll update the wiki later to explain it via pictures, but in short you open MovPic config -> importer tab -> click on the 'manually manage' radio button -> click on the manage scraper script button -> select IMDb+ source -> use UP arrow to reposition it in first place.

Another factor is that if you are adding IMDb+ to an existing installation, you first have to tell MovingPictures that you want all your existing movies to start using it as well. This is done via the "Force IMDb+" function inside the hidden menu (left side for Default skins). Once you switched everything over, which you can verify via "IMDb+ Info" (2nd info screen) to see how many movies IMDb+ scraper script controls, you can then use the Refresh method to update the titles on all those movies.

You can also select 'French' as secondary language and some fields such as summary, genres, etc will then be French with English titles. I'm actually working on allowing French titles as well, but with added option for those who wish their titles to remain in English language.

If all still fails, then please switch MediaPortal to debug mode, import a single movie, and provide me with the following files from your MediaPortal "User Files" folder (link in start menu) -> log\movingpictures.log file, the log\imdb+.log file and the "IMDb+\IMDb+ options.xml" file via attachment to your next reply.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, I made sure IMDB+ is at the top of the list, but I hadn't checked out the force imdb+ option. I'll give it another try later this week.

When MovingPictures imports a movie, it forever ties the scraper-script used to that movie. So any 'refresh', even with IMDb+ installed would still use the 'other' scraper-script. This is why the "Force IMDb+" button was put into place, to allow an easy solution to sort of like 'covert' those existing movies over.
