Input file for moving pictures!!! (1 Viewer)

just done my first install of media portal...

the program installed correctly... and loaded up correctly...

but when i click on myVideo....

i get an error message to go back into mediaportal config and set the input file for moving picture... how is this done?

For MovingPictures to pickup your movie collection you need to specify some Import Pathes to where these files are located on your computer/network. To do this:

1. Exit MediaPortal.
2. Double click on the MediaPortal Configuration icon on your desktop.
3. Click Plugins from the Left Hand tree view.
4. Right click on the MovingPictures icon.
5. Select Configuration.
6. In the Movie Importer tab, add the paths you want movingpictures to check for movie details.

Sit back, and wait while it gathers movie information online (overviews, artwork etc)

I thought the software will search the Internet for the covers and movie details?

It does exactly that, but you still need to specify the path to your movies.

Got you, so i'll just point the file path to my movie folder and it will search the net for covers and other items...

how clever is the software to place the correct covers to the films.. how does it all work???

Come on, man. Do some reading by yourself first: Moving Pictures. Then try what you have read.
