Hello Developers (and especially Morpheus_xx),

I get on some FTA channels an annoying "Insert Smartcard" Message. It happens (as far as I found out) not on the first time I start MP with a fresh started TV Server. It occures mostly if I stop MP and restart it. Altough I get this message the TV picture is displayed, and a scrambled channel works (ORF 1 HD). A 2nd thing is that not all FTA channels have this behavior - In my case I get this not on TW1 but on tirol tv.

A short explaination of my log:
11:22:14.982200 [(5)]: TV service: Starting
Switching from TW1 to tirol tv, ORF1HD - everything okay
Stoppt and started MP again:
11:25:56.937000 [Info.][MPMain(1)]: Main: MediaPortal v1.1.1.0 is starting up on Windows 7 [6.1.7600.0]
and made the same zapping again - but with a
2010-10-09 11:27:09.183000 [(16)]: TechnoTrend: 3: Please check your smart card
message (popup)

I don't know why this happens - maybe as a work around it can be surpressed on FTA channels - or a CAM reset should be made more often (on every client connect to the server?)

BTW: I had this szenario also If I suspend/wakeup the PC on the previous installed 1.1.0.0

Thanks in advance for your investigations/comments

Joe

this issue is most probably caused by the DVB epg grabber running in background. it could try to grab epg from a scrambled channel and the CAM tells you this.

please check you epg grabbing settings, if you only grab epg for selected channels, and you only have checked available channels for grabbing

    Hi morpheus_xx,

thanks for your quick look. I had only the EPG for group senders and EPG grabbing only while timeshifting (recording).
I tried to completly switch off EPG scanning, but without improvements - still "Please check your smart card" message.

    Regards

Hi morpheus_xx or other developers working on the CAM part,

do you have other hint to avoid this problem?

From my point of view there is a CAM re-init missing in case of waking up from standby (hibernate) - or a CAM de-init before standby. I tried also with the setting "re-init card" in the power scheduler. This makes them worse.

    Hoping on help.

    Hello,

I'm if someone is interested to reproduce this behavior (or to find the problem) - I try to narrow down the problem:
I've 3 sender ORF1 HD (Cryptoworks) , TW1 and tirol tv - both FTA senders -and the EPG is completly switched off

    a) If I start MP the first time following switch constellation works
Switch on with TW 1 , directly change to ORF1 HD - back to TW 1 , tirol tv and again back to TW1 works (switching to a scrambled channel is important - otherwise the error isn't reproduceable)

    b) Close MP via Home - Menu X and restart it once again..
Switch on with TW 1 , directly change to ORF1 HD - back to TW 1 , tirol tv or
Switch on with TW 1 and then directly to tirol tv and vola the error
    and vola the error
    "Please insert Smartcard"
    appears
So it needs no standby (or wakeup to reproduce this behavior)
If I restart the TVService before b) the channel surfing works.

    Maybe this helps a bit.

    Thanks

    Joe

    Hallo morpheus_xx and other developers,

I've tried to compress my investigations without standby stuff. I'm currently using the 1.2 Alpha version. EPG is completly disabled. In the card setting the graph is set to stop (instead of pause)
I've tried with 2 cannels ORF 1 HD (Cryptoworks) on program 1 and tirol tv (FTA) on program 9. On MP - I had the setting - start with fullscreen tv.
    1. Test : Zap to ORF 1 HD - works - close MP and stop TV Server, clear all server logs
    a) Start TV Server
    b) Start MP
    c) Select TV - and ORF 1 HD (last channel) is shown
    d) Press 9 on the remote and MP switches to tirol tv - few millisecs later the popup "Please check your smart card" is shown - and was confirmed by the Enter key

Now exiting MP stop the server - put all logs into Log ORF1-TirolTV-Problem directory

    continuing with 2. Test
    a) Start TV Server
    b) Start MP
    c) Select TV - and tirol tv (last channel) is shown - no Smartcard popup
    d) Press 1 on the remote and MP switches to ORF 1 HD - no Smartcard popup - wait few seconds
    e) Press 9 on the remote and MP switches to tirol tv - still no Smartcard popup

Now exiting MP stop the server - put all logs into Log TirolTV-ORF1-TirolTV-kein Problem directory

Both logs were zipped and attached. What I have discovered is, that also in the 2nd case a "Please check your smart card" was logged but never appeared on the GUI (You can check that - CI_OnSwitchOsdOff is missing in the 2nd log). Even on the smartcard popup I was able to view the program - and yes of course I have a valid subscription.

    Thanks for your help

    Regards

    Joe

styriaman, you missed the popup logged to tv.log in the 2nd case:
    Code:

2010-11-12 15:37:12.997400 [(16)]: TechnoTrend: 3: Please check your smart card

this means in both cases the message occures, but obviously you could see the 2nd one.

    Thanks morpheus_xx

for your 1st analyse. Yes that problem i mentioned in my last post. There must be a flag which prevents to display the menue on the screen. But that is only secondary.
Do you have seen some other things going wrong?

    Regards

    Joe

    Hi ramu

Can you post your logs. We can't help you with a graph building error without seeing the detailed information that only logs can tell us...
