I have used 1.1.0 for over a year and very satisfied.

I ran Windows update and dvbfix before running 1.2.0 download

Then having selected a new installation the installaion correctly gets to Install 1.2.0. Then it encounters problem and fails,

I attach the file mentionned in the error message.

Can you help?

Many thanks
Christopher

    Hi CBFR

This looks like the same issue as the one mentioned here (mpaudioswitcher.ax) to me. Can any other team member confirm that?

I attach the file mentionned in the error message.

What was the actual error message?

Assuming it is the same problem, you'll have to wait until the team fix it.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Thank you for your interest,

After down loading and opting for a standard installation (not an update) in French Then

The following stages are implemented correctly

    Apllication Action
    - Very old MP/TV Engine Installation Disinstalled
    - Direct X Installed
    - MS Visual C++ 2010 Installed
    -Windows Media Player 11 Installed
    -Media Portal 120 Beta ...........

    Then I get a message
Media Portal Installation has encountered a problem and has to be closed - Send to Microsoft ? - I select No
    Then a message
    Media Portal Deploy tool Error
Installation of Apllication Failure (Media Portal 1.2.0 Beta)
    OK

I then hit OK and nothing else happens

Unfotunately this is far from "OK" :)

At the stage of the " send to Microsoft" there is a reference to a file which I attached to my first message below

    I hope this helps

By the way my computer language setting is French so all these translations may be somewhat different to the standard English error messages

    Thanks for your assistance
    Christopher

Okay, I for one am still unclear as to whether this is the mpaudoswitcher problem described in the other thread.:D
Can someone please set the record straight.

The above excerpt from log file does indeed point towards mpaudioswitcher.ax. Thus it is highly likely to be the same issue. Which still needs to be fixed, since it was not just a compilation issue.

    Just a quick update:

Since the installation I do not have anything in the Windows Start menu except for Media Portal TV-Server .
However in c:/ program Files / Team MediaPortal /MediaPortal
All the program files are apperently installed

MediaPortal.exe runs 1.2.0.0 which fires up in next to no time and gives me :
    Photos
    Video
    DVD
    Music
    Plug-ins
    Settings

I can play CDs DVDs with better sound than before - Thanks
I can find photos and Weather

The only problem I have is running the TV Server which appears not to be updated -it leads to an outdated web-page
and so I cannot start on TV config.
The page "TV" on menu leads back to the menu above

I am impressed by the interface and await the fix for mpaudioswitcher if taht is the problem.
If you need further info do not hesitate

    Thanks
    Christopher
