Streamline MP running lol, Ill ad my own now I have come across a great way to start MP I use it to run MP on my one pc so i can run a fully featured pc and switch it to a htpc therfore using one box to do 2 seperate functions witrhout dualbooting or wasting resources It is basically a script from a .bat that will in order - close down all unnecesarry running programs - stop any unneeded processes - run any s\w that is only used for MP (remotes, Last FM, ect) - Run MP - Wait until MP closes and.. - Stop MP specific apps (remotes ect) - reinitialise all services used for PC - reinitialise all programs This way i can unload about 150mb ram and services and the cpu power Stop any slow spots (while updating ect) allow me to run a fancy XP with sidebar and all my little tools then switch to a very cutdown streamlined xp while running MP, which allowed me to remove my dual boot function and it 10000x easier you need to put the process.exe in c: and then its just a batch file mine is (with explanation)...................... (also included in the rar) cd\ process -k sidebar.exe process -k schedul2.exe process -k iexplore.exe CLOSES ALL PROGS IM LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN USING AND SOME THAT ARE LOADED FROM BOOT process -k firefox.exe LIKE MY BACKUP S/W AND PRETTY CLOCK process -k wmplayer.exe process -k lclock.exe net stop themes net stop "automatic updates" CLOSES ANY SERVICES THAT I WILL NOT NEED WHILE USING MP, THEMES SAVED ME LOADS net stop "system restore service" cd c:\program files\last.fm LOADS UP ANT TOOLS I NEED WHILE USING MP,YOU MIGHT WANT DAEMON TOOLS IN TOO start lastfm.exe c:\process -k explorer.exe CLOSES WINDOWS EXPLORER, USES LOADS, WHY RUN IT? YOUR IN MP!!!!! c:\mediaportal\mediaportal.exe RUNS MP AND..... WIAITS UNTIL ITS CLOSED UNTIL IT PROCEEDS TO NEXT STEP DIDNT EXPECT THIS BEHAVIOUR BUT IT WAS THE REASON TO RUNNING ONE SCRIPT AND WORKS BEAUTIFULLY start explorer.exe RESTARTS EVERYTHING THAT WAS CLOSED PREVIOUSLY cd\ process -k lastfm.exe net start "automatic updates" net start themes net start "system restore service" cd C:\Program Files\Windows sidebar start sidebar.exe /BELOWNORMAL /BELOWNORMAL ALLOWS YOU TO SPECIFY PRIORITY OF A PROGRAM cd C:\Program Files\LClock WHEN USING THE START COMMAND AND OTHER THINGS CHECK UP ON "START" start lclock.exe cd\
