Because of hardware "adjustments" I have had to do a complete reinstall of MP. It has always worked before, but now I get an immediate crash when starting MP. I have tried with MP 1.0 and 1.0.2. I did a full de-install first and then deleted the leftover directories. Install seems to work OK but fails immediately.

Full logs are attached, but the problem seems to be in the following:

Can someone please help me to understand what is missing (and hopefully why) when all I've done really is delete one installation of MP and then tried to replace it.

One of the main errors I can see is the tvdatabasev21.db, did you use the import tool, as there were some changes and that no longer worked with 1.0.2, you needed to use the updated version to make a backup.

I know it's a hassle, but did you fully delete the Vista = C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal or

c:\users\"your name without quotes"\AppData\VirtualStore\Program Files\MyApp\UserData contents (both hidden, so that needs to be enabled under organize\folder options\view).

Thanks for the suggestions. I have long since unset the "hidden files" tag so had already deleted the C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder - but I didn't know about the other ones (the path on Vista is slightly different to the one you gave but not hard to find).

Deleting these has helped - I think - since I then saw error messages that led me to conclude that the copy of the install kit I had saved was corrupt. I downloaded a new 1.0.2 and that has installed successfully.

However, I still can't install 1.0 - which I would prefer since that lets me use the Cyberlink h264 codec whereas 1.0.2 doesn't. When I try to install 1.0 (from a fresh copy I downloaded today) I get the message "download of settings file failed. Check your Explorer settings and try again".

Any idea what this might mean?
