i explored my device manager today but i can't seem to find my tv card anywhere... all i can see installed is: ASUSTeK Silicon BDA Video Capture...

i can't find it in capturecarddefinitions.xml...

maybe this is the thing that's causing the problem...

what will i do to solve this? :D

Is this TV card hardware encoding analog, software encoding analog or DVB?

i'm sorry, but how do i know if this card is hardware encoding analog, software encoding analog or DVB? as i read in the supported tv card list, asusmycinema p-7131 is both in analog and software encoding list...

as for my specs, i already update my system <----------------------------

By "googling around", it looks like the Asus My Cinema P7131 Dual is a DVB-T tuner and a software encoding analog card - so it should appear as 2 cards in MediaPortal Setup. To use the DVB-T tuner, you must have the BDA drivers installed.

Could you please run MediaPortal Setup, go to Television -> Capture Cards -> Add and then run Autotune. If you are unable to complete all those steps, exit MP Setup and attach the resulting MediaPortal.log file here - that might give us a clue.

ok, i tried doing that but it said: no capture cards found... i'll try posting the log here and here's the weird thing, i installed the tv server and it detected my card as 713x analog video capture... but why did it not detect in MP? i got it scanning for channels now...

I have your same setup and is working great!
Try to look in caputercarddefinitions.xml for your card and put D1 instead od D0 and retry, if I remeber well there two series of this card, and only one is recognised...
    bye
