Hey folks, im keen to get up & going with MediaPortal...

ive installed it onto my laptop
[Dell Latitude D630 ~ nice machine]
running XP Service Pack 2.

Ive configured it all & stuff, but when i go to MediaPortal in my Startbar // All Programs
I click, it says 'Initializing DirectX..." and stays like that for ever.
Wait... oh yeah. it flickers every now & then. I have DirectX 9 installed,
infact everything is all up to date.

I go to ALT+TAB and select other programs [no others open]
and i get a display saying:

"Your Version 6.5.2600.2749 of Quartz.dll has too many bugs!
Please check our Wiki's Requirement page"

Now im pretty shure my computer can handle it... :?

xD thanks for helping guys :p :D

EDIT: oh and also... when force-quitted it says "MediaPortal Crashed unexpectedly"

see wiki requirements page as it says, it will give you the fix, also SP3 is a requirement for XP
please makesure that the laptop also meets the other reqs.

    Hi,

SP3 may be listed as a requirement for XP, but it isn't actually necessary. My server is running XP SP2, as my TV card isn't compatible with SP3, and I see no problems.

    K...

    I re-downloaded Quartz.DLL and installed via safe-mode
*why does MS make so many files - not just one big file to run off ??? lol*

K when fullscreen, i simply hit the startbar & select the icon, choose 'close'
and it seems to go okay ^^D

Windowed, it displays the window, then i hit 'cancel' and it goes okay :p

I installed VistaMizer to make my copying & pasting AVIs
change, it appeared to corrupt the Quartz file

    Thanks anyways,
