Intel Macs, IR receiver, MP and MCE remote (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get the IR receiver in the intel iMacs and MacBooks working as a general IR receiver.
I have a Harmony 895 remote which can simulate a MCE remote, so it feels kinda redundant buying a whole remote package just for the IR dongle.

Would it be possible for MP to use the IR receiver for a MCE remote?
