I have tried to install MP 1.0.1 and 1.02 on a number of occasions. Usually I have also installed and configured For The Record. My problem is that I intermittently lose access to live TV, and in general it's more "off" than "on". The symptoms are that I can install and configure MP, tune the video card, and get access to live TV. I hibernate the PC, resume it, and usually get an error when I try to watch live TV via "My TV" or 4TR. Typically the error is something like "error starting stream" or "unknown stream" but sometimes MP hangs altogether and has to be killed via the task manager. Timed recordings via 4TR almost always fail and trying to watch live TV via 4TR gives similar errors, although the EPG via MP and 4TR is populated and the "ping MP" function in 4TR is successful. Video card is a Nebula DigiTV USB DVB-T box with BDA driver; I also have a KWorld dual DVB-T PCI-E card but I have currently disabled this by deinstalling the drivers to reduce the level of complication. I generally leave the codec settings as configured out of the box, not knowing whether there is anything better. Sometimes, I have had the experience of resuming the PC, finding that live TV is not working, trying again maybe 30mins later and finding that it is working, and then some time later finding that it has stopped again. After the best part of a month trying to figure this out, I am starting to climb the wall... I suspect that there is a configuration problem somewhere (would EPG grabbing stop me watching live TV if I have configured that wrongly?) but I feel that I have now tried most of the options - I've even read the manual! - and am running out of ideas. Can anyone suggest likely things that I might have got wrong, or where I might try looking? I have had a look through the log files after an error has occurred (typically the TV Server log seems to have something relevant but I'm not quite sure what I am looking for) but in general there seem to be messages that indicate that the tuner has been tuned correctly and has some appropriate signal strength/quality values, but for some reason the video stream is not being properly extracted, decoded, passed through or whatever. Most of all, it's the intermittent nature of the problem that really gets me - these things should be deterministic! Unfortunately I am away from home for a couple of days so cannot post log output but if someone could indicate the kind of information that would best help I can certainly post this in a day or two. I have tried setting the various options for "restart TV Server, MP, etc" on wake-from-sleep on the basis that the PC card might have needed a good shove (my first suspicion with the KWorld card) but I see exactly the same thing with the Nebula USB device which has always been very reliable with the previous DigiTV software. Any thoughts for an optimistic but despairing new MP user? thanks, Brian
