Hi,

Please help, I am trying to set-up MP to support Internet Radio, and I find no simple step-by-step instruction.

I have come this far:

I access the radio station via Windows Media Player version 10, and I create a .wpl file by doing “Save Now Playing List As …”.

A .wpl file could look like this:

<?wpl version="1.0"?>
<smil>
<head>
<meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Windows Media Player -- 10.0.0.3990"/>
<title>SR_P1</title>
</head>
<body>
<seq>
<media src="mms://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_SR-P1-High"/>
</seq>
</body>
</smil>

When I access the playlist under My Music – Playlists, I get the message “The file you are trying to play has an extension that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behaviour.”.

Grateful for some guidance ….

    All that I have done is to enter the URL (in this example, mms://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_SR-P1-High) in the Radio / Stations section of MediaPortal Configuration. Click on Add, then select Type as Stream and enter the URL.

    I also have "shoutcastsource.ax" installed and registered, but I don't think it is required to play steams via the Radio module as described above...? I guess we will find out if it is required when you try what I have described and it still doesn't work....

    Let me know how you go....;)

    Hi LasseA

    I've had some problems with playlists as well, that's why I set the Internet Radio stations directly in the MediaPortal Configuration.

    1. open configuration and go to radio > stations
    2. add a new station
    3. choose type=Stream and enter your url (mms://sr-wm.qbrick.com/02038_SR-P1-High) into the url field

    That works fine for my channels (I haven't tested this particuly station)

    I hope that helped.

    you can either enter the streams manually

    or

    rightklick on a link to the stream and select save target as.
    then save the file to the folder where the mp streams have to be saved.
