Summary:
Invoking MediaPortal by remote On/Off key

Description:
Since almost every remote has an on/off key it woud be great if one could
also 'turn on' MediaPortal with the remote.
In case of the X10 (Medion) remote this should be no problem because
the X10 software/driver is running as a service and so gets started when
Windows starts.
The only 'peace of software' that would have to be added is a MediaPortal
stub that also gets started when Windows starts and invokes
mediaportal.exe when the on/off button is pushed.

the MPTray program does this for any MCE remotes.
I wonder if this could be extended for other remote types? I guess it would make the app a lot more complex though. As it is, it's just a simple exe with no controls.

This can be done with firefly remotes, I have the firefly button mapped to Mediaportal.exe and the close application shuts MP down

For those of you with Creative Soundblaster remotes or Microsoft MCE Remotes this is done by Intelliremote in the MediaPortal Profile. The Power button is set to launch MediaPortal. You can then map the close button to ProcessClose("Mediaportal.exe"); if you want to shut the application down too.
