Hi, I'm sorry if I'm being a total novice with this but I can't get iPiMP to play anything. If I try and play anything from Moving Pictures I get a "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'Jayrock.Json.JsonObject'." FUBAR, and if I try to acces TV, I get "The column notify in table Program does not exist." FUBAR. If I try to play music, the MediaPortal PC reports "Unable to play _________". Have I missed an important step somewhere along the line?

What type of video files are you trying to play? Are they DVD files (VIDEO_TS.IFO etc.)?

This usually happens when you install the wrong version of iPiMP for the Mediaportal version you are running.

If I try to play music, the MediaPortal PC reports "Unable to play _________".
Is your music database populated? (Have you run a music scan?)

Also - can you read the Tips & Tricks section of the wiki, common questions are answered in there. Also if you want further support could you read the Troubleshooting section of the wiki and post some logs.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, Cheezey.

1 I am trying to play ISO files
2 I have MP1.1.0.0, what version of iPiMP should I be running?
3 short answer, no, but iPiMP seemed to have an album of mine registered, not sure how! Just done the scan, but I think I'll hold off till I know the right version of iPiMP. Hopefully it's obvious.

I have tried going through the FAQ and wiki etc, but I'm just not following it. Sorry, not usually this dumb!

[EDIT]
Now I've found the right version of iPiMP I've got TV (hooray) remote control, and music (though I was expecting the music to be remote of the iPhone, nevermind). Still can't get my ISO files to play though. On install or an Apache error, -8

That will be in a future version.

Yeah, iPiMP has problems when the video file is a DVD file, I hadn't even thought of ISO, there's no code in iPiMP to mount the ISO - I'll add it to the todo list.

On install or an Apache error, -8
This is some weird error with the installer and 99 times out of 100 it's nothing to worry about - if you can browse anything then Apache has installed OK.

A question from a colleague - can iPiMP deal with VOB files for streaming films?:D
