Hello everyone,
Been lurking and searching for a long time and I can't for the life of me seem to get my STB working in MP. I've tried everything Here, and everything Here, but I can't get my channels working properly.
I understand that I have to setup IRSS, and that have to teach it the commands for my STB, but that's about where I hit a wall. When i manually add a few channels in the TV-Server configuration, if I pick the source as 'tuner', they just give me whatever channel is on the STB at the time, and any other sources don't work. How exactly do I get MP to figure out that I need an external channel changer to view additional channels? I'm not trying to scan channels, I know that won't work with an STB. I figure there's a few steps I'm missing, but I'll be damned if I can find out what they are.

System configuration:
Comcast Cable (California)
HVR-2250
Coaxial cable plugged into the TV card from the STB (no Svideo inputs or outputs available)
Windows 7 x64
MCE remote, receiver, and blaster.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hmmm, this is pretty similar to another recent topic in this forum: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ing-all-guide-channels-1-tuner-channel-90119/

You want the tuner on the HVR2250 to be locked to channel 3 or whatever, but you want IRSS to change channels on the STB.

What I suggested in that other thread (untested) is to set the frequency to all the channels to be 3 (or whatever locked channel you're using).

If that doesn't work, see if the "VCR Signal" checkbox on the channel config does what you want...

IRSS should still be sending blast commands... shouldn't it? Are you saying that you're not seeing it blast given that MP believes it's already tuned the channel? Maybe that's what the "VCR Signal" checkbox does... tell MP that you need to tune twice?

    More questions than answers... sorry.
