IRDA remote control (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I've installed MP on my T42P laptop, I'm not going to watch TV with it only videos and music.

The laptop has integrated IrDA port and I would like to use it as a remote control receiver.
It there an application/plug-in that can "learn" my old DVD remote control signals and control MP?

nope. Unfortunately IRDA doesn't work on the same principal as IR remotes.
You *may* get lucky and find yours is compatible, but most aren't.

My advice would be to buy an MCE remote. They are very cheap off ebay or from retail stores and have a USB reciever included.
