Hi,

My target is simple: trying to blast the volume up/down command from the MCE remote to my Pioneer VSX515 receiver so that I don't have to switch to the receiver remote to control the volume. However, I can't make the learning working for ANY remotes I have.

I don't have Media Portal installed. All I am using is just Windows XP Mediacenter 2005 with SP2. My remote is an HP remote like this:

After installation, I run server configuration, and found that both checkboxes of Microsoft MCE had been checked already. So I run translator. I click "Learn" button from the window, then press a button on my receiver remote, only to get "Learn IR Failed" message. Then I open Debug Client, click "connect" to connect to server. Hit "Learn" then press button on my remote, and get the message "LearnIR, response, failure". I even tried other remotes including my MCE remote, none of them works.

Did I miss some settings? Do I have to install mediaportal to make it work?

Thanks.
