Hi all,

Only Hauppauge remotes 34- & 45-button are supported as documentation states. My Hauppauge remote as shown below is a 43-button (sold with WinTV
HVR-1300). Is it okay with this one?

Thank you.

Does this mean that I need to have a Microsoft IR-receiver for the Hauppauge 43-button remote to work in MP? I have an IR-receiver plugged into my Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T 500 card, but I only get a few buttons to work with the remote that was supplied with the card. I have the latest IR32.exe downloaded from the site suggested in MP config, but it seems very unstable and can't be restarted after it crashed.

There seems to be some confusion about the hauppauge 43/45-button remotes in these forums. My remote (supplied with the Nova-T 500 card) has, in fact, only 43 buttons, but that is due to the fact that Vol+/- and Ch+/- are two, not four buttons. Counting these as four makes it 45 buttons and all the buttons described in the MP wiki are there. I was having trouble getting it to work in MediaPortal, but after following the instructions in the thread below, it works as a charm.

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/getting_hauppauge_remote_nova_t_500_work-t13577.html

Only difference, I used the version 2.51.24342 from the latest driver download "CD-Digital-33c" dated 19 jan 2007 which is available here: http://www.hauppauge.nu/pages/support/swe_20support_hvr-nova.html

Cheers!

Tomas
