I just updated to the #3rd svn. I'm noticing a blank (black)screen on channel change (after a slight pause from the playing channel). The blank screen lasts for almost 2 seconds before the next channel is displayed. .

Is there a setting to get a faster channel change? or at least stop the blank screen?.

    regards,

    Chuck

    Hi Chuck

    New normal behaviour.
Maybe one of the devs want to correct me with more specific details, but I do not think this new part should slow down channel change.

Thanks... I don't think it is actually taking longer to change channels (2, sometimes up to 3-4 seconds). I think maybe I might just be used to the still-frame.

With the blanking, I am getting some artifacting along the right border of my analog TV. Closer inspection on my computer monitor is showing that the black mask is not completely covering the TV image. it is only noticeable on fullscreen. On the TV it shows up as a bright 2 or 3 pixel line of the right border of the still image from the previous channel. On the monitor you can see the still image behind the faded fringe of the black overlay. Maybe using a SOLID black image as an overlay, rather than (apparently) using black.jpg, which has a faded fringe around it when scaled up large, or scaling the overlay to much larger than the TV image.

    Just some thoughts.

Thanks again, now at least I can tell my wife what to expect.

Its certainly a bug if the OSD / channel info stops being displayed when the screen is blanked during channel change. Is any tester able to reproduce the issue? If yes then plase add it to Mantis.
