I am trying to run mediaportal full screen on my tv but minimized on my desktop pc. A lot of video players can do that no problem(Mp can play videos full screen too btw) . But i cannot find a way to run MP to run full on my tv without having it full screen on my pc?. Thou it would be great if it can run everything full screen on my tv while being minimized on my pc. To articulate further, i want MP to be full screen on my tv even when i am fiddling n menus or checking out wheather.

thanks

hi, ive not been able to run it to auto open on full screen mode on tv. what ive had to do is set displays to dual view, drag the mp onto the tv and have it unchecked for full screen, ive then set it to open and centre on the tv in my nvideo settings. not ideal, but it does open maximised on the tv. i would also like to have it full screen mode, gets rid on the title bar, cheers

Hi
Well that cannot be asolution because i use it as "clone" view. What happens is that anytime a video is playing, video play full screen on my tv automatically. I do not need to fiddle around menus or schemes. I wish that media portal can run in full screen on my tv :(

try it daul view, as if the screens were next to each other, make your monitor the main display, configure the tv resolution to 720x576, then drag the mp over to the tv, drag your player, eg divx player over to the tv screen, set the player to open full screen. set in prefences to center apllication when opening through your graphic card. then there you are, mp on the tv and movies playing on tv. leaving the pc screen free.

    Starting MediaPortal on 2nd Display

This is one of the most frequently asked questions according to the forum and according to this it is not usually possible to run MediaPortal on the secondary display due to the DirectX 9 design. However, I do have an NVIDIA workaround for this to start MediaPortal on the 2nd display!

Below is the simplest script of starting MediaPortal on the 2nd display, including making MediaPortal a high priority process.

    #NoTrayIcon
    $MP_Path = "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal"
    RunWait ("RunDll32.exe NvCpl.dll,dtcfg Primary 2")
    $MP_PID = Run ($MP_Path & "\MediaPortal.exe", $MP_Path)
    WinWait ("MediaPortal - Home")
    RunWait ("RunDll32.exe NvCpl.dll,dtcfg Primary 1")
    ProcessSetPriority ($MP_PID, 4)

To ensure that you can do desktop work at the same time whilst MediaPortal is running, make sure both options, "Hide taskbar in fullscreen mode" and "MediaPortal always on top" are not checked in the MediaPortal configuration. Also under NVIDIA Control Panel, disable the full screen device under Full Screen Video Settings, otherwise you might see the MediaPortal home screen on both displays using the rubbishy video overlay mode.

One of the limitations I have found from using this script is that aspect ratio correction does not work for screen modes that uses non square pixels.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!
