no, you are not doing MP for us for free, you are doing MP for yourself for free, you just dont realize it (so that you take offence very often ;-)

so I really hope, that version 2 will be finally reliable and I donate for the 3rd time (maybe even 1.0.1...but I dont suppose)

    Well, what can I say? If you think MCE is better than MediaPortal then fine with me :) As pointed out several times, you cannot expect us to take your complaints about something not working seriously, when you don't give any information about what's not working.

    Post some logs, describe what the problem is and you can get help. It IS that simple and a LOT of users have gotten free support for a free product. If you want telephone-support and want to pay for a product, then go for MCE.

    With your attitude you can be pretty sure that you wont get any help. If you really would want to have bugs fixed (which might be even caused by your system configuration, based on the fact that for others MP works much better) you should do proper bug reports, if not then there is no point for you spending time posting useless rants that are just going to get ignored by the developers and testers.

    If you aren't willing to help yourself please stop using MediaPortal (and tell it to your parents also). At least I won't plan to spend my free time reading any rants (and especially trying to figure out what might be wrong on your system(s) or MediaPortal running on your system(s)). I would assume that the same applies to other team members as well (and the forum contributors).

    Best wishes tourettes.

    A short follow up:

    PLEASE READ - AND RESPECT - THE FORUM RULES

    I'm pasting these here, since it seems you do not know them, or don't care.
    I've highlighted the ones you have broken the last 24h or so:

    Copyright Protected Materials:

    It is not allowed to attach, or hotlink copyright protected material in your posts, without the consent of the owner.
    This includes fonts, images, music files, etc.

    Any violation of this rule is grounds for an immediate and permanent ban.

    If you are unsure about the material you want to attach/link to, then get in contact with a ::moderator::

    Illegal Activities:

    It is allowed to link to useful free downloads and trials.

    But be aware that our servers are hosted in Germany and thus is subject to German law.
    Please do not expose us to any unnecessary legal liability.

    It is not allowed to post tutorials and/or link to webpages which contain applications or information about:

    * CopyProtection removal: DVD's, HD-DVDs, BR-Discs, etc.
    * DRM removal

    Any violation of this rule is grounds for an immediate and maybe permanent ban, because it puts our webservers, the whole project and our web-admin at risk.

    It's already a sign of good will from MP members/devs that they are still answering those rants...
    MP is free software, all work is done voluntarily. Those devs/testers sacrifice their sparetime to push this project even further...

    They are skilled coders, they already spent hours and hour acquiring the knowledge needed to code this project and could at any time decide
    to leave MP and spend their sparetime working on paid project for some company - which would gladly pay a lot of money for a talented coder.
    But instead they stay with MP and use their skills to provide us with a product far superior to any other mediacenter on the market - even the paid ones.

    If the devs put houndreds of hours into MP, why can't you just collect the logs from those computers - that's like 10 minutes of work?

    greets, luksmann

    One last comment from my side.

    The point here is that irrespective of culture, religion or anything else, we should respect each other. Therefore the specific mention in the forum rules that “profanity” is not allowed.

    According to wikipedia, it means the following:
    As a result, "profane" and "profanity" has therefore come to describe a word, expression, gesture, or other social behavior which is socially constructed or interpreted as insulting, rude and vulgar or desecrating or showing disrespect.

    MediaPortal is serving a very wide community and a lot of them belong to the Christian community. Using God’s name in anger IS offensive for that part of our community. The forum rules clearly cover it.

    Lastly, I hope you re-read the PM I send you to notice the polite way I pointed it out. I am sure you are also capable of being polite when you ask our dedicated developers and testers to help you out in future.
