In Configuration/Expert mode/ General is the ability to enable Watchdog. Why wouldn't you enable it please? It sounds like a good thing.

    I personally found it annoying, especially if using Vista, it will pop up and report error even if there was none, that was down to slow accessing of certain files.

    I would recommend off, if you have problems the the logs collector is the same thing, but run manually from your start menu.
