When I installed my ATI card (always used nvidia before) the current MP wisdom was to use the 8.12 driver because of some colour space problems with newer drivers. It's been working fine and I've had no reason to change it until now. I'm having problems getting h264 stuff to play and thought about updating the video driver just to eliminate it as a problem. Is this a bad idea? Which is considered the best driver version to use on a MP machine now?

    Thanks,

    Rob

I tested lots of Catalyst drivers. For me 9.4 ist the best. Colorspace-problem fixed with 1.1 beta, so you should use latest MP, beta is running very very stable here with amazing picture quality.

Hmmm. So for MP 1.0.2 it's still best to stick with 8.12 is it? My MP is really stable at the moment (apart from the HD issues, which aren't THAT important to me at the mo, and I suspect might be codec related rather than driver anyway) so I'm a bit reluctant to start again with 1.1 for now.

I'm using 9.7 with MP1.0.2 + XP working perfectly no problems

If your currently using 8.12 and have no problems then no point in upgrading.

    Hi kiwi

On my current configuration 9.7 caused Problems so i went back to 9.4.
Its funny how different the ATI-drivers on several configs work.
