The new TV-crop function is really a welcome feature but it crops my divx movies too and I don't think it is supposed to?

Also, it seemed to me that it set a global crop for all tv channels. Ideally, it should remember the setting for every channel, esp for us who have 2 tuners with different signals.

So you would like a per card setting and per channel?

    Yes.

Ideally, a separate stored value for every channel, and new buttons "copy this setting to every channel on this tv card" and "copy this setting to every channel on all tv cards".

That way, those that want a global setting will get that, and I can start out with a global setting, then tweak each channel individually.

I think that keeping every valid video pixel is good when you are presenting the PAL/NTSC video on a HD monitor =)

That would be ideal for those with multiple tuners and different braodcasts where only some channels need adjustment.

All my analog channels need right side adjustment BUT non of my digital channels.

    Hi,

Although I only created the GUI and messaging part for the crop feature I think I can respond to this. When looking into the current code to crop the picture I already suspected this to affect video as well, so this needs to be fixed.

As for a per-channel crop setting...no. A per-tvcard config does sound logical to me (and I'll have to look into if/how we can implement this) so you can at least compensate for "black borders" caused by your card. But other than that, all channels would allow for a particular margin of the screen to be cropped by regular TV overscanning. So yes, you would loose a little detail but IMHO the value of this part of the picture does not outweigh the effort required for changing the TVDatabase for this if one would implement per-channel cropping.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

Yeah. Just thinking of the number of configurations (number of tv-cards * number of channels on each card) makes me think that it is crazy to implement per-tuner and per-channel options.

    Not too crazy.
System already remembers video file position for all videos. It is not THAT complex.

Ok. I thought that this would be a simple add-on for the functionality that is allready there. If the coding will be complex I understand very well that you prioritise other things.

But I would argue that the user-experience would not be any more complex.

    best regards

I was actually thinking about a single per-channel physical location of parameters, then optionally copying the current values to all channels or all channels on the same tuner.

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help! EDIT: I now downgraded the server (as I did with the client above)...

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database".
