    Hi all ,

Does the MyTV- Series plugin support .iso images like moving pictures does ?
I've tried a couple of episodes in .iso format and keep getting a codec error.
.iso images work fine in moving pictures. Are there some settings I need to change for TV Series to work with .iso images ?
I'm using Windows XP with Media Portal 1.0.1 with streamed MP skin and the tv series / moving pictures that came with the skin.

    Thanks

    Good question.

Been thinking of converting my boxed sets, to run through Media Portal and wondered what was the best way for proceeding.

iso's are supported but only with additional setup though.
    1 episode / iso for instance (Series - Seasonx - Episodey.iso)
Complete iso backups are not supported without extra effort.
You will also have to make sure MediaPortal is setup to support iso's (by using eg daemontools)

    Thanks marvenius.

Personally, I prefer the episodes seperated. Think I'll extract the .VOB files from the DVDs and run em through MeGUI to seperate em into individual .avi or .mkv files.

    Thanks for the reply,
I have ripped a couple of episodes a single .iso images. Every time I try to play them I keep getting a codec error , - see attached picture. I only get ths error with tv series.

I have enabled the .iso extension in Mediaportal , and they work perfectly using my videos and moving pictures using daemontools.
I'm using the built in player in mediaportal.

    Any ideas ?

It is as it says. A codec problem. You need to check the codecs you are using. I had this (not specifically with iso's or TVSeries though) and had to change the codecs used.
For me it worked by setting ffdshow codecs for both video and audio in the videos section of MP

I had already set ffdshow codecs for both video and audio in the videos section of MP. It gives the error no matter what codecs I tried.
If I copy the iso files into the My Videos folder they play back perfectly, with no errors.
If I try the iso files with the Moving Pictures folder they play back perfectly, with no errors.
I am only getting the error with the TV Series plugin.-
Is there anything you can think of that would cause tv series to give an error but would allow the same files be played with other plugins ?

    Thanks

I'm cross posting from another thread but I have the same issue and it seems to be a problem with mounting of iso's.
I can confirm that I have the same issue with all iso's in TV Series. I think it is a problem with mounting the iso as shown in the excerpts from my logs below (note that the file on C: is the actual iso file whereas drive H: is where dameon tools mounts the image so TV series is trying to play the file directly instead of mounting it):
