iTunes Protected Videos (1 Viewer)

I like that the iTunes external player can be used to play iTunes protected music. I also would like to play protected videos. I tried adding the right extension to the external player configuration, but it didn't work out of the box.

I wonder if the iTunes external player plugin needs to be enhanced in order to play video properly? I think that the iTunes API would allow this to some extent. Has anyone tried?

it worked for me straight away. Im guessing you added .m4v to the itunes external player in the Mediaportal config/plugins screen when you enabled it.

I then opened a purchased .m4v protected itunes movie through moving pictures and it launched itunes in fullscreen and started playing. (set itunes to fullscreen in itunes preferences)

In a more recent attempt with a newer iTunes, I was also able to set iTunes to play fullscreen and get protected content to play. It didn't seem that volume/skip and other controls worked through the iTunes plug-in of MediaPortal. I probably just have to map those controls directly for the iTunes application when it is on top.
