Just a "." (dot) instead of program name in tv guide (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I use the release version of 1.0.2 and since a few weeks, my tv-guide only shows a dot as the name for each program. The length and time of each program is okay, but the name of each program is a "." and there is no info either.
I used to download the freeview xml file automatically from the internet and also tried the xmltvnz 3.0.0.12 program. It does import all the data in the plugin in tvserver config and the link from the data to the tv channels in the next tab all looks okay, but in mediaportal the guide doesn't show the info, only a dot.

Anybody any idea if this is a hardware or software or setting problem?
I tried to google, but couldn't finsd anybody with the same problem.

Thanks,
Ivo.:D

    Hi there :)

Please clean your log files, do a new import, then attach full log files here.
Also zip and attach the xmltv file.
Maybe someone can spot the problem then.

The logs, xmltv and screen dump should be attached to this reply.
I use windows vista on a 2.6ghz core2duo with asus 9600gt black pearl edition card.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I am at the point of going away for the weekend. Can't test it now, but will do it Sunday when I'm back. Sorry.
It is early morning here and my kids are screaming to go now..

    Regards,
    Ivo.

Would you be able to give me settings for the epg part of the setup in mediaportal config? I noticed that when I play with these settings I sometimes get 2 programs ahead shown in the tv guide. Can it be that wrong settings here are automatically overwriting the imported tvguide.xml with incomplete data which is extracted from the freeview broadcasted channels?

    Hi Ivo71,

From your logs it seems that not programs are imported:
    Code:
2009-09-03 17:46:20.559000 [XmlTvImporter]: xmltvimport: Reading TV programs
2009-09-03 17:46:20.631000 [XmlTvImporter]: xmltvimport: Sorting TV programs
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.640000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TV3
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.647000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for C4
2009-09-03 17:46:20.664000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TVNZ 7
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.673000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TV3 PLUS1
2009-09-03 17:46:20.715000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TVNZ 6
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.729000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TV2
2009-09-03 17:46:20.742000 [XmlTvImporter]: XMLTVImport: Inserting 0 programs for TV ONE
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.744000 [XmlTvImporter]: Xmltv: imported 11 channels, 1718 programs status:tvguide.xml:File imported successfully;
    2009-09-03 17:46:20.746000 [XmlTvImporter]: plugin:xmltv import done
The number 1718 is the number of programs that where considered for importing, but none of them is imported (see: Inserting 0 programs for TVNZ 6). This condition only happens when the programs "End Time" is before the current time when the import is done or the programs already exist in the database.

Don't you have "Delete old programs before import" checked? If not try again with it checked and post your logs again.

Edit: If you also have DVB EPG enabled it could also overwrite your EPG data imported through XMLTV and / or prevent XMLTV from importing programs when "Delete old programs before import" is not checked.

Thanks. I didn't have the delete old programs checked. It is weird that it did work for quite a while and stopped working at a later stage.
However, my problem is fixed now.
I had and still have EPG grabbing enabled, because when I turned them off, the freeview channels started lagging.
Haven't tried it after checking the delete old programs option.
    Any thoughts on this?
Anyway, thanks for helping me out.
