Just installed and several challenges (1 Viewer)

Hello Everyone
So happy to find a replacement for Windows Media Center which I loathe.

Installation went fairly well but I have three problems I can't seem to find answers for:

1) Must I watch TV full screen? I have dual 27" monitors and really need to shrink the picture.

2) How do I get rid of that horrible flashing green bar below the TV picture? I've tried downloading EPG, and it seems to work,
I assume this space is for the EPG.

3) On my remote computer (Windows XP SP3) it connects to the media server, but I never get a picture, after a while it locks up. This machine is connected via hardwired ethernet (local network)

Configuration on Server
Latest builds of Team Media Portal
Dell Studio XP 7100 (6 core) 8GB RAM
Hauppage WinTV 885
SQL Server 2008 Workgroup Edition R2
Windows 7 Ultimate

First remote I tried:
Dell Insprion 5100 (Dual Core 1.6 Ghz)
XP SP3

Anything else I can provide, more than happy to.

1) If Windows manages the dual screen setup (instead of a driver and windows only sees one large screen), you can select to use the screen selector and show MP on only one of the 2 screens.

2) What green bar? If the EPG is not shown, there is (should) be no bar. Please make a screenshot (press F11 to make one).

3) Sounds like a firewall issue. Please start MP in Debug Mode (Option in the start menu) and post the logs of the test here.

Today, I can't get it to start at all... I get "No Audio Video Detected" on the Windows 7 computer (which is the server)

On the XP computer, I turn the TV on, nothing happens. For testing I completely disabled Windows Firewall.

In the logs folder, I have an error log indicating that some of the EPG requests returned HTTP 404, but as I have EPG data today I assume that is normal.

The tv log shows nothing abnormal (doesn't look like any kind of error there either)

Sorry for the late reply, I was a bit busy with real life. Your issue is a network one, probably firewall on the server machine as the log says:

I completely understand the "real life" part!!

That port is open for local/remote TCP/UDP are we looking at a different protocol needed here?

Try it with a disabled FW to rule that out. I think you need to open up a larger range of ports as the ports will differ.
