Just need an IR Blaster (1 Viewer)

Ok, setting up a computer with Media Portal.
It has 2xDVICO DVB-T Tuners and a Hauppauge PVR-150 which a Foxtel STB plugs into.

Unfortunately the PVR-150 is a few years old (4?) and the IR Reciever/Transmitter appears to have been lost (am still looking )

so, i would like Media Portal to be able to change Foxtel channel by itself when there is a scheduled recording. I am working on the guild, etc, at the moment.

I have seen lots of cheap USB-IR things on ebay...will they do it?
I have also seen the IR-UART thing...looks the goods, but a lot more then i would be able to spend on it.

i personally have the first Microsoft MCE Remote control at home, which works well, but its mine and i don't want to give it away

does anyone have any suggestions????

I purchased a Hauppauge HMCEREMOTE control kit, comes with remote, 1 blaster bud and usb receiver cost ~$46 AUD and works fine with IRSS and mediaportal to control my sat STB.
