Hello -
Great job on Media Portal! The program is fantastic to use!

One of the main uses for us lately is for our daughter on long car trips. Media Portal turns my netbook into a great portable movie machine.

But... when I am driving, it's pretty difficult to resolve issues that result from her hitting a button or accidentally clicking a right or left mouse button. (She's 3 years old, so asking "just don't touch anything" only goes so far :)

I'm not sure if there is any direct functionality in Media Portal for this, or if you could recommend a 3rd party app. Once I get a video playing, is there a way to have a key sequence that locks out all further keyboard or mouse clicks until another key sequence (or the same one) toggles off that functionality?

Thanks!!
Brian

    autohotkey can do this.
goto their forum i'm sure someone already has such a script made.

I found the "KidKeyLock" application (KKL) very useful. Setup the program to lock mouse clicks, wheel and also whole keyboard.
Then autohotkey can be used to run the program via keyboard shortcut.
Just type "kklquit" (or the password you set up on your own) to end the keyboard/mouse blocking and quit the KKL.

    EASY!

Get the KKL app here: http://www.100dof.com/kidkeylock.html

The only thing this does not block is the CTRL+ALT+Del combination, mouse movement and a few keys on my Gyration Remote.

lock keyboard and mouse with hotkey to unlock them
