Hi,

I'm looking at getting a Keysonic wireless keyboard to operate my MP HTPC. I just have a question I am unsure of. When my XP Home PC is in hibernation. Will I be able to press a key on the keyboard to wake it? IE will the USB receiver have enough power to see the signal from the keyboard?

Also in power scheduler when it mentions idle (before being shut down). Is that the general term IE when MP is not playing a movie or watching/recording tv?

Thanks

Dan

Idle means not doing any visible work. It might be recording, but that stops Powerscheduler from shutting down as well (but the server side). If you have a single seat, both will stop your system from shutting down to sleep.

For the keyboard: Usually USBs can be set to still be powered when in different power states. So I guess it should work with some configuration - even though I have no experiance on that by myself. If you set the USB port that it can wake the PC it should stay powered. (again notice the word "should"). I would first check for your PC with another (cheaper) device.

Thanks, I'll test the idle later.

Regarding the USB power. I have a standard USB wired keyboard and that wakes the system so that must have power to it and it is set to wake the PC. I've read about 5+vsb but I cannot see anything about this in the MB manual.

Just try it as well. You will need to set the USB port to "Allow this device to wake-up the computer" - otherwise there is no power.

Just to update received the Keysonic RF540+ today and it resumes from standby perfectly. Finally nice to sit on the sofa and control the PC.
