Hi,

MisterD asked me to open a bug report.

The CI/CAM capability of my KNC One does not work because tv server does not recognized the card as a knc card.

Don't get me wrong, it does recognize the card using the KNC BDA Beta driver 1.7.1.6 but when it comes to channel decryption using the CI, KNC detection fails.

So, unencrypted channels are shown well, but when I try to tune in a encrypted channel a message box tells me that timeshift failed because the channel is encrypted.

Please check the attached logs.

TIA!

I just tested the TVE3, really great(!!!!!), but I have the Issue that all the scrambled channels are not found by the channel scan. It seems the Cineview Mudule is not recognized.
BTW. I have an Alphacrypt CAM installed.
There are no errors or problems at all, except the huge bunch of missig channels.

Oh, I just have to say: TVE3 really provides a GREAT picture quality!!! Better than all the commercial SW I have seen so far.

Is there something going on in that area (regarding KNC CI)?
Keep up the great work, thx!!!

    cheers

    Hi Frodo,
small update on your fix of 14th svn built:

It seems the scrambled channels are found now, but however, you can't tune to them, because it seems the CI/Cam is not used/recognized. If you need more/different information on this issue, I am happy to assist ....

    cheers

How did you make it to find the channels?

    Hi everyone,

I have the same KNC ONE DVB-C with the Feb beta driver running with last TVServer/MP SVN builds. I tried different versions of mediaportal as well as every exisiting driver version (incl. terratec cinergy) but "Channel Scan" always fails - not even one channel is found. I already switched the OS from XP Pro SP2 to Vista (both 32bit) - with no success at all.

The card's original software as well as some others don't have any problems either finding or tuning the channels.

I looked through the log files and wonder if
    - "Tuner locked:True" or
    - "FTA:False"
could be the problem? The first one sounds like MP can't even use the card as it seems to be used by another application (even of Vista clean install). The second one is obiously strange too, as none of the channels is scrambled and ergo must be FTA? (works in other apps well, as written above).

During channel scan the signal level/quality is always 0.

I also tried to add some channels manually. This doesn't work either as there are no "tuning details".

    joystick, Pullkick:

Can you please explain what you did that your cards are working? :D

Edit: WDM driver works just fine with other software, but BDA was silent to any app I tried so far. It seems like a OS/driver issue, doesn't it?

Edit2: I can't connect "Microsoft BDA-C Network Provider" with "KNC ONE BDA DVB-C" using GraphEdit. Does is work on your systems? Could it be the reason why signal level/quality is always 0?

    Hi Frodo,

the logs look different now. there is an entry "Knc card detected" now!

But it still does not descramble the scrambled channels. Let me stress that searching channels and watching unscrambled channels is no problem.

I attached the logs. Could youu post here if you fix something: I now you are busy, but I totally missed that you fixed something on the the 14th. If you can
t find the time, I do not mind, but if you post, that would make things easier, though I'm really grateful for your work!!

    TIA, Andre

    prophet2k,

I would really like to help you but in the last two weeks I only found the time to turn on the machine once and that was for ten minutes yesterday to test the current version.

If you could post the links to the tools I should use and an exact order list what to do and which log files to send to you, I would see what I can do for you on the weekend.

I'm sorry I cannot offer more, but it's at least something :)

Pullkick: yes, you can find a very nice guide for that here in the wiki.

I couldn't do step 6 and wondered if this could be a hint that something's wrong an my system. Does this work for you? Can you connect the pins? (s. the guide for the details)

    Thx a lot!
