Hi,

I recently got a new remote, the König RF remote, which uses RF instead of IR. The problem is that not all buttons on the remote work, which is pretty annoying as I'm not able to change e.g. the subtitles on my movies (by using one of the colorred buttons I used to use for that on my IR remote....)

For those of you that don't know this remote, here is a picture:

In MediaPortal configuration I selected the MCE remote.

Any clues?

    Hi

You have to use EventGhost to map the non functional keyes.

Use the attached configuration, you also ned to install the MessagePlugin

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I've installed the MessagePlugin, that was pretty straightforward, except for the "Import MessagePlugin.hip into HIP.", which I skipped. Firing up Media Portal Configuration shows the MessagePlugin (enabled), so I suppose this step went well. I've deactivated all remotes.

One question remains: Where should the xml file you also supplied go to?

When you have installed EventGhost Download EventGhost
Open the xml file in EventGhost.

Enable General HID in MediaPortal Configuration - Remote

    And you should be running.

Check the log in EventGhost if not all keys are working

We are making progress. I've installed EventGhost and loaded the supplied XML file. EventGhost shows the following error in the log pane:
    ---> Welcome to EventGhost <---
    Autostart
    Enable exclusive: Keyboard Emulation
Plugin: HID: TopSeed Technology Corp. USB RF Combo Device
Multiple devices found. Don't know which to use.

I have only one remote connected, and a logitec keyboard/mouse. How to resolve this error?

    Hi

Your have to configure the TopSeed Technology USB RF Combo Device:
    - in EventGhost under autostart right click on first Plugin: HID: TopSeed...... (E_config_0.jpg)
    - Select Configure item
    - Select an USB RF Combo Device from the devicelist (E_config_1.jpg)
if the prefix is 1_ select the first device in the list
if the prefix is 2_ select the second device in the list (E_config_2.jpg)
if the prefix is 3_ select the third device in the list (E_config_3.jpg)
Repeat for second and third device in the autostart list

When pressing the 'Green button' an event like 3_.Button.13 should be displayed in the log
if Mediaportal dont start, corect the path for mediaportal in Mediaportal->Start (E_config_4.jpg)
Pressing the 'Record' button an event like 2_.Button.7 should be displayed in the log
