[Last CVS] Plugin section messed up and error (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have updated from 2.0 RC2 to CVS from 03-03-2006, 01:08

After updating and opering MP Configuration, I get an error when I select the plugin section. I can choose to ignore this error, but then I cannot do anything in this section.

When I start Mediaportal, I start directly in MyAlarm. When I enter <escape> or <back-button-on-remote>, MP is closed (no logo on system tray)

Maybe related: I used to have a custom menu structure setup in the plugins section. I cannot find this option after updating...

I would guess that the problem you are having is to do with the cusom menu structure. Also take a look in the logs directory and see if anything in there sheds any light.

As a short term solution, load an earlier CVS and then change back to the standard menu. Apply the new CVS and see if that resolves it.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the log-folder. this is my Mediaportal.log (see below). It seems to have to do with the changed Dutch version of strings.xml (as mentioned on this forum by someone else).

Hi,

I have deactivated my custom menu in an ol d version, but this doesn't help.

For some reason, sometimes my selection of activated plugins disappears. Therefore, not a single plugin is activated. Then I startup in My Alarm.
When I activate all my pluguns and then don't change anything else, everything seems to work fine.

I keep getting the same error message all th e time, so the real solution must be somwhere there....

Hi,

Looks like the stocks & minesweeper need a recompile for current CVS... Either remove all 3rd party plugins or try to install a clean copy of RC2 + current CVS: i.e. uninstall MP, remove C:\Program Files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\, then install RC2, then apply latest CVS (don't forget start.bat).

Of course you will loose all your settings and databases if you reinstall from scratch.

EDIT: BTW watch out with recent CVS, since the dutch strings.xml seems corrupted. It's best to get the strings.xml from an earlier CVS snapshot or obtain the previous version from the CVS repository.

good point. Just as a further warning, the tic tac toe plugin also causes crashes after hibernation with recent CVS...
