Last.FM interrupts/stops (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I really love MediaPortals Last.FM plug-in, but I have some problems with it: after about 1-2 minutes, the connection usually interrupts for about 10-20 seconds. After about 5 minutes latest, the connection stops completely. I have a 20Mbit internet connection, my HTPC is connected via cable. Listening to alternate "standard" webradio streams works for hours with no or negligible interrupts. Also, listening to Last.FM via the browser works without stopping....

I would really love to listen to Last.FM using MediaPortal. So, did anybody else experience similar problems and has some hints for me, how to solve the issue?

Would appreciate it!

    rtv: yes, I use the BASS player

    Spragleknas: sorry, logs are attached.

    I just ran Last.FM again: after playing 42s of the first song it stopped and about 45s later the next song started. This song stopped after about 2minutes; 45s later the next song started...
    In the log file this is reflected by
    Code:
    2009-08-04 22:02:12.875000 [Info.][MPMain]: g_Player.Process() player stopped...
    2009-08-04 22:02:12.875000 [Info.][MPMain]: g_Player.OnEnded()

    Any idea is appreciated, cause I don't want to miss that great feature.

    Can nobody help me? I really love this mediaportal feature, but it is absolutely annoying, if the music stops in the middle of your favorite song...

    Yeah, that looks kinda strange...
    Did some more test with log level set to debug. This is an extract for one cycle of automatic starting, playing and stopping.
    Apparently, the streams somehow ends after a couple of minutes (at 21:44:29). But again: in the browser plug-in, Last.Fm plays for hours... May some log experts can help me out.

    Puh, that was a tough one!
    Since I am using AMD "cool'n quiet" technology, I was supposed to select "Minimal Power Management" as power schema in the "Power Options Properties". In this setting, the operating system obviously is able to turn of the network adapter in order to save energy! And that caused the problem....

    Just in case, somebody else experiences this (for me kind of annoying) feature, here is how to switch off this function:
    Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Power Management > "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

    Now I can relax and enjoy Last.FM without interruptions!

    Just for completeness: The method described above unfortunately did not work reliably. Now, I have a batch script running in the background, that simply sends one ping to some address (in this case to www.lastfm.de ;-) every 5 seconds. That worked for several hours the last couple of days without freezing, so I'd say: that really "fixed" my problem reliably.
    Obviously, it was some kind of strange combination of stream type (Last.FM), internet provider (KabelBW), application (MediaPortal) and network adapter causing the problem. BTW: youtube had the same problems, which are now solved.
