Introduction
Announcing the new LatestMediaHandler plugin. This plugin has replaced parts of the existing FanartHandler plugin. This plugin handles all things related to latest added media (like latest added movies, series, recordings, music albums, pictures or recordings).

The plugin supports;

• Push latest added media to your skin.

  [*]latest added movies (moving pictures)
  [*]latest added series (tvseries)
  [*]latest added music
  [*]latest added tv recordings​

Requirements

• MediaPortal 1.2 or later version
• The Fanart Handler Plugin version 2.3.1.531 or later
• A skin that supports the LatestMediaHandler.

NOTE
The old #fanarthandler. tags will also be supported for the first versions to make it easy for all skinners but are "depricated" and will be removed after some time.

Hi,

An alpha version is now released containing a version of FanartHandler without the latest media stuff and a separate plugin for the latest media handling. This release is an Alpha release and should only be used by skinners or people wanting to help testing the new plugin. Please do not use this on your production/live system.

Hello.
I've done some firsts tests. Works really great here with Backdrop V1.0.1. My startup issue reported earlier is gone completely. TVSeries got Hash within a second now instead of some minutes this lasts earlier... The overall startup performance of MePo raises also. I think it was a great idea to split FH... I will use this now on my regular setup to do a long time test. Will report more, if there is something to report..

Hi cul8er,

I don't want to talk your efforts down, but what I ask myself (and already did when this latest media thing was part of FH) is: why have two plugins for one job. I mean, InfoService can also be used to get the latest series episodes and movies. I know that this plugin gives even more information, but why not extend an already existing plugin instead of creating a new one? Just my two cents...

I think I found a bug or something... when I got Latest Media Handler enabled and tick the button to show "Latest Music" in the configuration I get a blank screen when I wanna join the music screen in shares view. (See attached screenshot).
If I untick the button to show "Latest Music" everything looks as expected in the music view.

I attached also the mediahandler & fanarthandler logfiles but they show no errors.
What I get is an error.log. Unfortunately it's in german. Translated it says something like: It was attempted to divide by zero (0).
