LegacyLiveDriveIR listens to the IR receiver on any LiveDriveIR (or Audigy Drive, etc.), and passes any events received to InputDeviceMapper. This plugin works by passing any System Exclusive (sysex) messages it receives on a given MIDI device on to InputDeviceMapper. For those who don't know, the LiveDriveIRs sends any signal their IR receivers pick up as Sysex messages on a MIDI device. The result is that this plugins turns the LiveDriveIR into a generic IR remote reciever. A receiver that, in conjunction with InputDeviceMapper, can control MediaPortal with any IR remote.

By itself LegacyLiveDriveIR does not "do" anything, but, when used in conjunction with InputDeviceMapper, it becomes a powerful means of controlling MediaPortal.

Information on InputDeviceMapper can be found here.

Version 0.3 of LegacyLiveDriveIR has now been uploaded. This version updates the old LiveDriveIR plugin to be compatible with MediaPortal 0.2.0.0. In short, v0.3 is for use with MediaPortal 0.2.0.0 or later, and requires InputDeviceMapper v0.5 or later. See the ChangeLog for details.

The latest version is available here.

Great! Thank you for that its just what i've been looking for. I’ve just got it and installed it and its working my remote, now all I’ve got to do is bring it together with MP.

Thanks again.

No problem :)
The only downside is that I cant use it myself, I can only tell ppl about it :p
The remote that came with my Audigy4 (RM-1500) is one of the sweetest remotes I have seen..

It does not transmit via the MIDI port, its USB (external).. :(

Sorry to here you cant get any help for your remote, I thought I was gona have problems, mines the
daggy old RM900, never used it for very much before cos the creative software is kack and it didn’t
support XP anyway. I can now use it for MP but only like an extended key board, but thats fine,
that’ll do for me. I’m now gona go over to Intelliremote and spread the word about MP, they dont
seem to know about it there.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah but too bad the software allows 50 key presses and it will then stop working - unless you pay a 12 bucks Paypal fee! And in any case it sounds a bit shamey to use a second program to control MP. Wouldnt it be great to have the LiveDrive plugin included in MP?

That seem to have happened in the latest. When I tryed it a while back, the program was fully functional with an option to donate..

Well, everyone gets greedy after a while.. :(

I am the developer of Intelliremote, so I thank you for mentioning me!

Darkwader --- Intelliremote now supports the USB style remotes. So your Audigy 4 is now supported and we have a MediaPortal profile to use.

pierlooqup --- I apologize for having to charge money but it got to be so overwhelming handling all the support requests and it is not inexpensive to run a web site and put in the time. So i started charging for it because I didn't want to just let the project go fallow and figured it would motivate me to keep working on it!
