Dear all,

I have installed IRSS for my MP 1.1.0 to control an external cable STB.
using an Microsoft MCE remote, and MCE IR transceiver connect to my HTPC's USB port.
IRSS works fine by learning the IR control code of my STB and can blaster to control it.

However, I notice IRSS consumes a lot of memory. There are two processes related to IRSS, one consume 20MB, another 15MB. I want to move my MP to an out-dated machine which may only have 256MB/512MB memory. Thus the IRSS seems not suiable for this kind of small systems.

I checked winlirc, which seems quite small. The problem is that it can not directly support MCE IR transceiver. To date, the 0.8.6b version only support four kinds of IR transceivers, URAT based, sound input based, a special USB based etc. Failed to find how to make it work with the standard ehome driver for MCE IR transceiver.

HIP might be another choice, but I am not sure how well it can be integrated with MP.

Any suggestions here? Thanks very much,
