    Hi all

Im hooking up my old MP system on to a TV of a frend of mine, the resolution of his TV is pretty damn high 1920x1080, this gives the best view of the menu's and windows background (lower resolution make it blurry like a low quality divx file)

With this high resolution the video played inside MP get disturbed by horizontal lines on the screen.

To make sure the resolution wasnt to high for my system i did playback the same video with VLC player, then the image was nice and clear, that brings me to the conclusion it must be something inside MP.

Does anybody got a clue how to solve this ?

    ThX in advance...

    Greetings Jan

Its called Tearing, make sure either VMR9 with exclusive mode is selected in MP config, expert mode enabled (top right), directshow filter control, these settings are there.
Or install .net3.0\3.5 and try EVR as renderer.

To get hardware acceleration from your graphics card you need the Cyberlink PowerDVD8 mpeg codecs, or the older Nvidia Purevideo one.

VMR9 with exclusive mode was allready selected in the configuration,im downloading PowerDVD 8 right now.

Will just installing PowerDVD do the trick, or do i need to direct MP to that codec somehow ?

Once PDVD8 is installed, you need to select it under Video\DVD\Television.

With expert mode enabled, check that under the directshow filter control the codec has hardware acceleration boxes ticked.

Also in PDVD's own config, check HW acceleration is enabled.

Not saying you are going to totally solve, but hopefully may improve things, unfortunately the 6200 was not a totally dxva chip, so any HD may totally screw it up, we did some tests a while ago now and a 6600gt was found to be needed for HD movies, otherwise severe stuttering occured, obviously time has moved on, so a lot of new cards, even quite lowend are more capable of handling this filetype.

    ThX again Paranoid Delusion..

This all didnt really do the trick, im suprised tho the video did play pretty well inside VLC player, i can select this trough the VLC player plugin option in MP, but i dont like how that player interacts inside MP.

I think the best option is to just buy a HD compatible graphic card, i saw the prices are pretty doable, so gonna go for that...
