I have been trying to create a DVD from a programme I recorded with MediaPortal as a DVR-MS file. The problem is that the lip sync is always out by around 5 seconds. The original file always plays fine and there is no problem, it's only when I try to put it onto DVD.

I have tried using both DVD Flick and Nero 8 to burn the DVD and the problem is still the same. Using different discs also makes no difference.

I have tried burning the DVD with exactly the same bitrate as the DVR-MS file (which I found using MediaInfo) and this makes no difference either.

Can anyone please help me out with this, because I'm completely lost on what to try next?!

Thanks

I have not tried this in ages, but I remember converting my DVR-MS into mpeg before trying to make a DVD. Inside MediaPortal you can "compress" your files (don't remember where exactly, switched to TV server a long time ago). The resulting mpeg file is "easier" for Nero to handle than the DVR-MS.

Thank you for the reply. I forgot to mention I've also tried that already too :(

Sorry, got no other clue. Though I remember my brother - for whom I had put a few things on DVD - claimed the same issue. I never looked further into it.
