I started using MP about a week ago after giving up on VMC on my new HTPC. It is working great and I've sorted out most of my issues and needs on my own using the manual, search, and google. I am down to a few issues that I haven't been able to sort out.
I'm running MP 1.0.1 with StreamedMP, Moving Pictures, and mpTray using an iMon IR/VFD with a Harmony 890 as a VMC remote. I am running my HTPC as a single HDMI connection for audio and video to my Onkyo 805. I do not have a TV tuner.
If anyone could help with my remaining issues I'd appreciate it.
- When playing an actual DVD disc using DVD Shortcut I cannot seem to exit back to the main MP home screen. I'm stuck in the DVD and have to ALT+F4 and restart it.
- Sometimes the mouse cursor stays in front of the screen. I assume this is due to a combination of using remote desktop and HDMI handshaking. I'll RDP from my laptop and then run a logoff batch file to disconnect and return the PC to the desktop instead of the login screen. RDP may not even be the issue, but it is my guess that I RDP into a MP session or start MP before exiting. Anyway, a way to regain focus would help. I usually just close MP and restart it.
- I have some shows and series as well as DV dumped uncompressed home movies. I want to reduce the number of home screen options and I have it down to five plus settings and plugins. The five options are Movies (Moving Pictures), DVD (DVD Shortcut), Videos (default), Music, and Pictures. Right now I have anything that isn't an actual movie under Movies using Moving Pictures. This works out great and makes me want the "Videos" section to work as slick. Now under Videos I have Shows, Children's Shows, and Home Movies. What plugin is out there that I could use to organize (cover art, descriptions, etc.) the single shows and series (such as Planet Earth) and not have to fight to get the home movies and oddball shows incorporated? I tried the TV Series plug-in, but that didn't seem to like most of my shows and especially my home movies.
- Music album covers are not downloading. My music collection came from an iTunes organized database full of DRM free music. Some things have cover art, but most don't. Should this happen automatically?
Thanks for any input.
