    Hi,

I've got MP + TV3 configured and working now (after maaaany hours of tests and configs)... I know how to update MP to latest SVN "safely"... Now I want to give a try to latests nighty builds of TV3... I understand it's just a question of uninstalling TV-Server + Plugin and install last version available... What configurations will I lose? What will I must do to restore the config?

    Thank you so much...

    Hello peque,

all settings of the TV engine are stored inside the SQL-Database. You have to export it and then reimport it after the update in order to keep your settings. I recommend not to backup the "program" table or empty it before exporting since it contains lots of EPG data which would be obsolete after a while. I also recommend to stop the TV-Service while doing the backup / restore.

Then... when you install TV3 again, it erases all tables?

It eventually does. Even it it doesn't you would have no real backup of your settings afterwards when you don't export the database. You wrote about many hours of testing and configuration, this would all be lost in case of an error. I thought you wanted to prevent this.

you're right! I mean... I'll do a backup of the db for sure... I was just wondering if it really erases the db or was just prevention... :)

    Than you very much!
