    Hey there,

I'm having problems with the sound output when switching from a channel with AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio to a channel with regular mp2 audio. In almost all cases I hear no sound at all. I will not get any mp2 sound until I switch off and back on live TV. This problem started months ago, possibly with 1.0 RC1 or maybe some time earlier. With 0.2.3.0 it worked fine though.

This is what I discovered so far:
    - just switching audio on a channel that offers both mp2 and AC3 audio works without problems
    - the timeshift file created by TV server does have the correct audio. So the problem must be in Mediaportal itself
    - as far as I could see, there were no strange entries in any logfile.
    - this happens regardless of the audio codec configured in MP

I hope anyone can give me suggestions what else to try or at least confirm that there's a problem. I would really like to use AC3 sound on live TV.

    Regards,
    Sepp.

    Hi tourettes,
I tried ffdshow already, but that makes no difference. Same for MPA and the Windvd audio codec. They all show the same behaviour. So I guess it's not related to the configured decoder.

    Regards,
    Sepp.

    Hey guys,

I just tried another audio filter: AC3 Filter. But still switching from an AC3 to an MP2 channel results in no sound.

I would really appreciate if anyone could at least tell me that this works in general.

    Thanks, have a good day!
    Sepp.

just for information: I configured AC3Filter to encode mp2 to AC3 sound. Thus no switching from mp2 to AC3 occurs anymore. This does not really solve the problem, but it's ok for me.

same problem here. actually, i've updated today to the latest svn and now all audio is gone, unless I use ac3 sound on some channels. the mp-system sounds are gone too....only ac3 sound still works. :s

EDIT: Damn I'm a dumb cow!
I turned down the volume of WMP while testing x264 stuff when I got a call. I forgot to turn it up again and so wasted my sunday figuring out what the hell was wrong.

    same here

I have the same problem here. I didn't have the problem with Mediaportal 1RC1 on WinXP. I'm only having this problem using Mediaportal1RC2 on Win Vista 32bit using the same hardware in both instances. I cant hear anything when i play mp3s aswell, haven't had time to try avi movies yet.
