Is there a possibility to just always default to http instead of https?
I mean, videos from liveleak also play with http instead of https.
Just checked it out and took the first video I saw:

    https video

    Also playes in http

I've been preparing a workaround, and contacted the maintainer of liveleak to see if he's still active.
If not, I'll ask offbyone to transfer ownership (and responsibility) to me.

I was already looking at the regex to edit it so that the "s" was dropped from the URL.
However, when I saw the line of code my enthusiasm to edit it myself quickly vanished. It has been 15 years ago that I did some regex myself...
    Too long apparently;)

HTTPS is supported. But the problem is in OV code. As I check latest SVN (3624) in HttpUrl class in constructor is check for "http" scheme in url. For everything else is thrown exception.

Is there any news about this problem? Probably not so this post could be considered as a bump ;)

There is some news: I've contacted the maintainer of liveleak and sent him the new regexes. He said he would publish them soon.
And @offbyone fixed the https-issue is solved in the sourcecode, so if a new version will be released those videos will work too.

Sad thing is that I don't have any time-frames for those events...
