I found another post that suggested changing the timeshift settings to 3 and 5 seconds, and did this. It now takes 30-40 seconds. Hi MeMeMe. Could you attach Logs as well (when you change channel to a not-broadcasting channel and back again). Otherwise people increase channel switching time by putting the timeshift buffer into a RAMdisk, but your problem seems more TV card / driver related.
I started mediaportal in debug mode, opened the guide, and clicked onto a problem channel.
Then I used Channel down to change to a broadcasting channel, waited for it to display.
Then I used channel up to change back to the non-broadcasting channel. When I did it this way, I got a different error message: "Unable to start time shifting."
