If I change to a channel that is not transmitting (which at 2:20am appears to be the case with FIVER, even though the EPG shows "Teleshopping") MP locks up (IE won't respond to any buttons) for about 30 seconds before displaying a timeshifting error. Also, if I select Yes to the "switch to previous channel" prompt, it just throws me back into the EPG on channel 1.

I notice from the tvserver_tv.log that MP waits 15 seconds before deciding to give up as it can't find an audio signal for FIVER and then repeats the process with my second tuner. Wouldn't it be more user-friendly to just give up after a couple of seconds (maybe only trying the one tuner) and display a "No signal" message and allow the user to just continue channel surfing or call up the EPG if they choose to?

That delay can be configured under TVE3 config. sorry, cannot remember settings name on top of my head, but its some timeout setting.

It's TVServer config\general\timeshifting, wait for unscrambled signal change from 5 to 1, wait for timeshifting change from 15 to 2.
Restart tvservice, this brought down the no signal message from 30 seconds to 7 :)

If you have any issues, then revert to original settings :(

Now I am using ambass's modified files from here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/380934-post1.html and here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/383233-post85.html, make sure you use the tswriter swede, this gives quicker tv start and good ff\rw whilst timeshifting.

Edit: you must be using svn 21720 for ambass's modified files to work.

Thanks. I'll test that out later.

There's a new version of the patch files in your first link for svn 21793 now, so I'll try those out as well.

I've had some trouble since installing those updated files and TV Server lost my tuners and channels. I've reverted to the original files but I'm still getting a JIT error every time I start MP, although it's still usable, so I might have to reinstall from scratch.
